I was a bit nervous buying the second sort, but the only flaw I can find is a tiny speck on the inside rim. The cup feels beautifully balanced in hand, and the coffee stays warm far longer than my usual mugs.

The porcelain has such a lovely weight—substantial but not heavy—and the handle is perfectly sized for my fingers. Even though it’s a second sort, I can’t spot any flaw, and the cup holds heat beautifully for a slow morning coffee.
