Nach dem höfischen Rokoko mit seinem Muschel- und Rankenwerk wurde am Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts auch bei der KPM Berlin die Formensprache der Antike zum vorherrschenden Stilmittel. So entsteht 1790 die streng klassizistische KURLAND Form in der Königlichen Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin.
